Trust & IP Governance

Your Knowledge. Your Authority.

Sylloge is built on the principle that experts own their intellectual property — and the platform protects that ownership through structured governance, not just policies.

How IP Authority Works

Expert Authority

Experts are IP owners, not content contributors. You can initiate retirement of any folio at any time with a stated reason. The platform facilitates your withdrawal — it never blocks it.

Enterprise Continuity

Critical knowledge sources never vanish overnight. When an expert retires a folio, you get a 90-day notice period with read-only access — enough time to find alternatives or negotiate.

Structured Resolution

Disputes follow a tiered model aligned with WIPO international IP licensing norms: direct negotiation, platform mediation, and binding resolution. Not legal threats or silence.

The Retirement Workflow

When an expert decides to withdraw a folio, the platform enforces a structured 90-day process that protects both the expert and their enterprise consumers.

Day 0

Expert initiates retirement

The expert states their reason for withdrawal. The folio enters read-only mode — no new queries can be made. All active lessees are notified immediately.

Days 0–30

Direct negotiation

Enterprises can file structured disputes stating their business impact and proposed resolution. Expert and enterprise communicate through the in-platform messaging system.

Days 30–60

Platform mediation

If disputes remain unresolved, either party can escalate to Sylloge mediation. The platform reviews both sides and facilitates a compromise — extended grace periods, data export assistance, or other terms.

Days 60–90

Binding resolution

If mediation fails, Sylloge makes a binding decision. The retirement proceeds or is cancelled based on the merits. Both parties retain the right to external legal action per the platform Terms of Service.

Day 90+

Folio archived

Active leases are concluded. The marketplace listing is removed. The folio is archived. Query history and royalty records are preserved — financial audit trails are never deleted.

For Experts

You are the owner. Not a contributor.

Your knowledge enters Sylloge on your terms and leaves on your terms. The retirement workflow exists to enforce that — not as a bureaucratic hurdle, but as proof that the platform treats your IP with the weight it deserves.

You set the reason. You control the timeline. You can cancel if circumstances change. And the financial record of every query and royalty is preserved permanently — your contribution is never erased.

For Enterprises

No knowledge source disappears overnight.

When you integrate a folio into your workflows, you need to know it won't vanish without warning. The 90-day notice period gives your team time to find alternatives, negotiate extensions, or file a dispute.

If you disagree with a retirement, you can state your case through a structured process — not a legal battle. Sylloge mediates, and if needed, makes a binding decision. Your operations are protected by process, not luck.

Built on International Standards

The dispute resolution model follows the WIPO ADR escalation model for digital IP licensing — the same framework used by international organizations to resolve copyright and content disputes. The 90-day notice period aligns with EU Digital Services Act notice-and-action requirements.

These are not aspirations — they are engineering and legal constraints built into the platform.
